Pastor Jorge Martinez

[Lead Pastor]

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

My name is Pastor Jorge Martinez, and it is my joy to welcome you to our church family here at HFWBC. We are a Christ-centered, Bible-believing congregation that seeks to love God, honor Jesus, and serve others with grace and truth. Our desire is for you to feel the love of Christ from the moment you walk through our doors.

I am blessed to be married to my wonderful wife, Melba. Together, we have two sons, Teddy and Danny, and seven beautiful grandchildren. We also have two delightful toy poodles, Opie and Kloe. We’ve been part of the HFWBC family for a year and a half now, and we truly love it. It’s a close-knit, godly community with plenty of room to grow.

I have been serving the Lord since the mid 80’s, and I am passionate about teaching and preaching the Word of God. I preach from the New King James Version of the Bible, using a combination of expository and topical teaching styles, always with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. My greatest joy is sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and helping others grow in their walk with Him.

My hope and prayer are that you won’t leave this church the same way you came in…but rather, changed, encouraged, and uplifted in hope and love. Most importantly, I pray that your time here helps you to glorify Jesus Christ and worship God in spirit and in truth.

We would be honored to have you continue joining us and making HFWBC your church home… a place where you can grow spiritually and use your gifts and talents for the glory of God.

In Christ’s love,    Pastor Jorge Martinez

Jeremy Morris

[Trustee]

As one of the Trustees at HFWBC, I’m honored to help oversee the stewardship of our church’s resources and ensure we operate with integrity and faithfulness. I’m blessed to be married to my wonderful wife, Ashley Morris, and together we’re raising our six amazing children to know, love, and serve God. One of my favorite books in the Bible is Daniel… I’m continually inspired by his courage, faith, and unwavering commitment to God, no matter the circumstances.

Ashley Morris

[Children’s Ministry Director | Homeschool Co-op Director]

As a lifelong educator with a background in teaching, early childhood development, and working with children that have autism, I’ve been blessed to serve in a variety of roles , including Christian preschool settings and as a homeschooling mom to our six wonderful children.

I’m also honored to be the wife of Jeremy Morris, and together we’ve built our home on the foundation of faith, family, and service to the Lord.  In my role as both Children’s Church Director and Youth Group Leader at our church, as well as the director of our homeschool co-op located at HFWBC, my heart is to help raise up the next generation to know, love, and follow Jesus.

I believe that discipleship starts young, and it’s my passion to create spaces where children and youth alike can encounter God, grow in His Word, and understand His deep love for them.  My walk with Christ shapes everything I do. I love the Lord with all my heart and rely daily on the guidance of the Holy Spirit to lead my steps, whether I’m teaching a Bible lesson, praying with a student, or encouraging a fellow mom. It is my greatest joy to serve Him by serving His people, especially the little ones Jesus calls so precious.

Patty Mason

[Children's Ministry Teacher]

Hello, my name is Patricia Mason, though many know me as Patty. I’ve been blessed to call Hughson my home for the past 43 years. In 2011, I began attending Hughson Free Will Baptist Church, and from the very beginning, it has truly felt like home to me.

I have the joy and privilege of serving as a children’s church teacher, a role that allows me to share God’s love and truth with young hearts . One of my favorite Bible verses is Isaiah 40:31 -  “But those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

This verse has always been a beautiful reminder of the strength and hope we find when we place our trust in the Lord.

Marrissa Franco

[Worship Leader]

Hello, my name is Marrissa Franco.  My husband, Andrew Franco, and I are proud parents of two boys. We were both born here in California and currently live in Modesto, but we travel to Hughson to attend HFWBC, which we are so grateful to now call our new church home.

We recently returned from Colorado Springs, where Andrew completed his service in the U.S. Army. While we were there, we attended a local church where we served and stayed connected to our faith. We first heard about HFWBC through my aunt and uncle, "Pastor Jorge and his wife, Sister Melba. " Pastor Jorge has played a huge role in my spiritual journey. Before hearing him preach, I had little knowledge of the Bible. His messages inspired me to ask questions, dig deeper into God’s Word, and grow closer to God. Pastor Jorge also officiated my husband's and my wedding, which makes his presence in our lives even more special.

I currently work as a caregiver, supporting individuals in memory care and assisted living, many of whom are living with dementia. It’s a role that requires compassion, patience, and love, and I try to carry those same values into my walk with God and my interactions with others.

Though I’m naturally very shy when it comes to singing, I sing to worship and serve God. Believing and trusting that He will use my voice for His glory!

I believe God continues to mold and grow each of us in new ways, and I’m learning to trust Him even in areas that feel challenging .

One verse that has always meant a lot to me is from Isaiah 61:3  is "He makes beauty out of ashes."  It’s a powerful reminder that God can bring purpose and beauty out of even the hardest moments in life.
